MSOC: Thomas Heading to Eighth NAC Championship in Ten Years After 2-1 Win Against SUNY Canton

CASTINE, Maine – The Thomas College men's soccer team advanced to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Final for the eighth time in ten years with a 2-1 victory over SUNY Canton on Saturday evening at Maine Maritime Academy.

Thomas got on the board in the 25th minute when Josh Irving (Portland, Maine) made a beautiful throw-in to Zenawi Bowen (St. George's, Bermuda) inside the box. Bowen took a swing at the bouncing ball and fired it into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.

The Roos tied it up early in the second when Alex Kenmogne scored off a feed from Agustin Nunez to knot it 1-1. The Terriers got the game winner in the 80th minute when Irving scored off a corner kick by MacQuille Walker (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) to give Thomas the 2-1 win.

John Villanueva (Gray, Maine) earned the win in goal for Thomas, making three saves on four shots. Dawson Pellerin made four saves in the loss for Canton.

Thomas advances to the NAC Championship on Sunday, November 10 at 2:30 PM at Maine Maritime and will take on the winner of the other semifinal game between MMA and Husson.
