BANGOR, Maine – The Thomas College men's soccer team defeated Husson 2-1 on Wednesday evening to remain undefeated in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play.
Thomas was able to take an early lead when Drew Parsons (Farmington, Maine) was granted a penalty kick and capitalized ten minutes in to make the score 1-0. In the 25th minute, Zenawi Bowen (St. George's, Bermuda) was able to find the back of the net for the Terriers, increasing their lead to 2-0. Bowen headed the ball in after a good bounce came directly to him off an assist from Josh Irving (Portland, Maine).
Husson got on the board in the 37th minute when Cai Pritchard snuck the ball past John Villanueva (Gray, Maine) who came out of the net to challenge him.
Neither side was able to get one through in the second half as the Terriers held on for the 2-1 win.
Villanueva made five stops in the win for Thomas. Benjamin Powell took the loss for Husson with five saves.
Thomas will host Maine Maritime in their NAC season finale on Tuesday, October 29 at 5:00 PM.
