WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's soccer team remained undefeated in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play as they defeated Northern Vermont University-Johnson 8-1 on Sunday afternoon at Smith Field.
Woodlin Placide (Les Cayes, Haiti) stayed hot, scoring the first of his two goals in the fourth minute to put Thomas up 1-0 early. Placide's goal marked the fourth time in the past three games that he has scored a goal in the first five minutes of the game. Eric LaBrie (Kennebunk, Maine) scored his fourth goal in two days three minutes later to make it 2-0. Zenawi Bowen (St. George's, Bermuda) put back a rebound off the Johnson goaltender in the ninth minute to make it a 3-0 game. Placide scored his second in the 13th minute to give the Terriers a 4-0 advantage. Drew Parsons (Farmington, Maine) scored on a penalty kick in the 27th minute to push it to 5-0 at the half.
Senior defender Benjamin Vigue (Yarmouth, Maine) scored his first career goal, heading in a corner kick in the 79th minute to make it 6-0. Vigue didn't take long to score his second career goal, heading in another corner kick to make it 7-1 following a Badger goal. Josh Morrissey (Scarborough, Maine) capped off the scoring in the final minute, netting a free kick goal.
Thomas will host Bowdoin College in a non-conference game on Wednesday, October 16 at 7:30 PM on Smith Field.
