MSOC: Terriers Close Out Regular Season with Loss to MMA

CASTINE, Maine – The Thomas College men's soccer team fell to Maine Maritime Academy 2-1 in their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) finale on Tuesday evening.

The Mariners struck first in the 25th minute, with Matthew Caron making it 1-0 off a feed from Evan Backus. Thomas answered back less than seven minutes later when Kyle Patterson (Gorham, Maine) fed Adam LaBrie (Yarmouth, Maine) to score the 1-1 equalizer to send the game ties into the half.

Backus got the game-winner in the 56th minute, finishing on a pass from Caron to give the Mariners the 2-1 win.

Jonathan Dutka (Durham, N.H.) made three stops in net in the loss for Thomas, while Joshua Reeks made six saves in the win.

The Terriers finish the regular season tied for second in points in the NAC standings and will await seeding for the NAC Tournament.
