WATERVILLE, Maine – Adam LaBrie (Yarmouth, Maine) and Michael Sanzari (Falmouth, Maine) each scored twice as the Thomas College men's soccer took a 5-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Saturday afternoon at Smith Field.
LaBrie opened the scoring for Thomas in the 28th minute to make it 1-0. Sanzari picked up his first in the 35th minute to make it 2-0 going into the half.
Josh Irving (Portland, Maine) scored his first career goal in the 56th minute to put Thomas up 3-0. Jarod Croteau put Johnson on the board in the 69th minute to make it 3-1, but the Terriers answered right back less than a minute later with a Sanzari goal to go back up 4-1. LaBrie ended the scoring with a goal assisted by Robert Ochan (Portland, Maine) in the 86th minute to give Thomas the 5-1 victory.
Jonathan Dutka (Durham, N.H.) earned the win for Thomas, working the first 45 minutes before being relieved by John Villanueva (Gray, Maine) for the second half. Gerrit Lane took the loss for Johnson, allowing five goals on nine shots.
Thomas will visit UMaine-Farmington on Saturday, September 29 for a 2:30 PM NAC match.
