WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's soccer team blanked Green Mountain College, 7-0, in North Atlantic Conference action on Sunday afternoon at Smith Field.
The Terriers snap a three-game losing streak, moving back to .500 at 6-6-1 (4-1-1 NAC) while the Eagles fall to 1-8 (0-6 NAC).
The Terriers scored early and often in the second half as their offense ignited for six unanswered goals. Josh Emard (Lebanon, Maine) got on the board first in the ninth minute a feed from Princiel Kunieki (Portland, Maine). Four minutes later, Adam LaBrie took a pass from Emard and sent in a goal to the right side. Kunieki added a goal of his own in the 23rd minute off of a corner by Josh Morrissey (Scarborough, Maine).
Thomas added three more goals before the break to take at 6-0 halftime lead. Nawfal El-Antri (Dorchester, Mass.) chipped in a goal on a feed from Zenawi Bowen (St. George, Bermuda) in the 29th minute. Michael Sanzari (Falmouth, Maine) and DJ Nicholas (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) scored back to back goals in the 41st before the half.
Thomas outshot Green Mountain 45-1 and held a 17-0 advantage in corners.
The Terriers will travel to Bates on Wednesday, October 11 for an 8:00 p.m. matchup against Bates.
