WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's soccer team dropped their first loss of the season in a 4-0 shutout to Endicott College on Thursday night on the road.
The Terriers now sit 2-1 on the year while the Gulls remain undefeated at 2-0-1.
The Gulls took control in the 24th minute of the first half as Jesse Martinez netted a goal from Tyler Johnson for a 1-0 advantage.
Endicott continued their strong play into the second half as they scored three unanswered goals. Evan Couchot tapped in the second goal on a crossing pass from Conner Couchout in the 58th minute. Victor DaCosta added a goal in the 72nd followed by Jamie Becker in the 85th to blank the Terriers 4-0.
Jonathan Dutka (Durham, N.H.) was given the loss in goal for the Terriers, stopping seven shots while Will Manuel earned the victory, turning aside one shot. Senior Tevin Reid (Dorchester, Mass.) was the only Terrier to record a shot on goal. Endicott outshot Thomas 31-4 and held an 11-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Terriers will return to their home pitch on Saturday, September 9 as they host the University of New England at 1:00 p.m. on Smith Field.
