Waterville, Maine - Thomas College Freshman M/F Casey Castle (Bermuda) earned the North Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Rookie of Year Honors. Along with Rookie of the Year, Castle made the NAC First Team All Conference Team along with fellow freshmen GK Mikkail Crockwell (Bermuda). Freshmen D Paul Rechichi (Australia) and D Edwin Reyes (Dallas, TX) earned Second Team All Conference Honors.
Castle proved to be a menacing force for opponents as he led the conference in goal scoring during conference play with four. Castle finished tied for second in the NAC for total goals (11) and finished in fourth for the most total points (23). Castle netted two goals in the Terriers semifinal victory over UMaine at Farmington this past Saturday.
Crockwell had a great season in the goal for the Terriers while picking up First Team All Conference Honors. Crockwell finished fifth in the conference in total saves (73) with a save percentage of .777. Crowell's goals-against average was 1.28 for the regular season. Crockwell made six saves and gave up one goal this past Saturday in the semifinal victory.
Both Rechichi and Reyes have had a stellar season on the defensive end of the field for the Terriers while picking up Second Team All Conference Honors. Rechichi struck four goals and one assist this fall and is a proven leader on the defensive end for Thomas playing in all 16 games. Reyes has split time between the offensive end and defensive end of the field this fall netting two goals and three assist and playing in all 16 games.
The Terriers will face off against the Hornets from Lyndon State this Saturday at 1 p.m. on Alumni Field for the NAC Men's Soccer Championship.
