MLAX: MacWhinnie Nets Hat Trick in Loss to Regis

WESTON, Mass. – The Thomas College men's lacrosse team fell to Regis College 10-3 in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon.

After the Pride went ahead 2-0 to start the contest, the Terriers got within one with a goal by Daniel MacWhinnie (Lanesborough, Mass.) assisted by Johnathan Wilcox (Palmyra, Maine). Each team scored one in the second quarter, with MacWhinnie scoring his second on the man advantage midway through the quarter at Thomas trailed 4-2 at halftime.

Regis scored four unanswered in the fourth to go up 8-2. MacWhinnie completed the hat trick with three minutes remaining in the fourth, but the Pride moved on to the 10-3 victory.

Damon Westhaver (Damariscotta, Maine) took the loss for Thomas, making 10 saves.
