BANGOR, Maine – The Thomas College men's lacrosse team dropped a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest at Husson University, 17-1, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Terriers fall to 1-2 (1-1 NAC) in the early season while the Eagles drop to 2-3 (2-0 NAC).
The Eagles offense came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Terriers by an 8-1 margin. For Husson, Jacob Boothby recorded a first half hat trick to lead his team. Colby Blondin (Colchester, Vt.) scored the lone goal for the Terriers with 3:06 remaining in the first.
The Eagles continued to pull away in the second half as they tallied nine unanswered goals while holding Thomas scoreless.
Boothby finished with five goals to lead Husson while Zach Glazier added three goals and two assists. Gunner McAllister, Jaden Wells, Brooks Gay, and Adam Littlefield all recorded a pair of goals in the win.
Blondin scored the only goal and tied a game-high 13 shots while scooping up six ground balls and causing two turnovers. Michael Small (Brentwood, N.H.), Conner Blair (North Hartland,Vt.), and Leo Myers (Bath, Maine) combined for 15 ground balls while Blair caused four turnovers.
Matt Martin stopped 12 shots in the win for Husson while Connor Lamberton (Shohola, Pa.) saved an impressive 29 shots for the Terriers.
Thomas will host Johnson on Friday at 4:00 p.m. for a conference matchup at Bernatchez Field.
