FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Thomas College men's lacrosse team dropped their second-straight non-conference matchup to Dean College, 12-1, on Thursday afternoon at Grant Field.
In the loss, the Terriers remain winless at 0-2 while the Bulldogs improve to 4-1 in 2017.
Dean came out strong in the first quarter, firing 20 shots at Terrier goalie Connor Lamberton (Shohola, Pa. / Delaware Valley). Brody Fredericks and Colin Hinrichs each netted two goals for the Bulldogs for a 4-0 lead after the first.
In the second quarter, Dean's offense continued to pour it on the Terriers as Kyle Pucci and Ben Sikes scored a pair of goals each to give the Bulldogs a commanding 8-0 lead at the break.
The Bulldogs added another four goals to open the half until sophomore Colby Blondin (Colchester, Vt. / Colchester) got the Terriers on the board late in the third quarter with his third goal of the season to finish the scoring at 12-1.
Blondin led the Terriers in shots (four) and groundballs (five). Alex Lawson (Hockessin, Del. / Alexis I. Dupont) caused two turnovers on defense and picked up three groundballs. Lamberton finished the game with an impressive 34 saves in the loss.
Pucci tallied four goals and an assist for the Bulldogs while Sikes add three goals and eight groundballs. Jake Anderson and Madison Olsen combined for six saves in goal for Dean.
The Terriers will open their conference schedule on Wednesday, March 22 as they host Lyndon State in a 4:00 p.m. contest at Smith Field.
