BANGOR, Maine — The Thomas College men's basketball team fell to Husson University 82-74 in a North Atlantic Conference game on Saturday evening.
The Terriers were led by Zach Mackinnon (Kennebunk, Maine) who notched 21 points, including three 3-pointers, and two rebounds. Justin Butler (Orlando, Fla.) came off the bench and contributed 12 points, five rebounds and three assists. Jacob Godfrey (Machias, Maine) and Lovegeurson Fleurine (Fort Pierce, Fla.) recorded double digits in points with 11 and 10, respectively.
Thomas jumped out to an early 22-9 lead just over halfway through the first frame. The Eagles responded, outscoring Thomas 23-13 at the end of the first period to cut the Terriers' lead to 35-32 at the half.
Husson took the lead a minute into the second period, going up 36-35. After the teams traded baskets, the Terriers retook the lead at the 11:39 mark and held the advantage deep into the second half. Husson regained the lead with just under six to go and built an eight-point advantage over Thomas to take the win by a final score of 82-74.
Thomas will play in their regular season finale on Tuesday, February 18 when they visit UMaine-Farmington for a 7:30 PM NAC game.
