WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's basketball team fell to Colby College 87-69 in a non-conference game on Tuesday evening.
The Mules started the game on an 8-0 run over the first two minutes, but the Terriers quickly closed the gap and made it 11-8 two and a half minutes later. Colby gradually built their lead back up to take a 42-31 lead at the half.
After the Mules built up their largest lead of the game of 19 at the 14:59 mark of the second half, the Terriers began to chip away, with a Demetris Webster (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) three-pointer cutting the lead to 66-58 with 7:21 to go. Colby would not allow Thomas to get closer though, and moved on with the 87-69 win.
Webster led the Terriers with 15 points, while Jordan Goodson (Orlando, Fla.) followed with 14 points and seven rebounds. Zach Mackinnon (Kennebunk, Maine) chipped in 12 points while pulling in five rebounds.
Thomas will travel to SUNY Canton for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener on Friday, December 6 at 7:30 PM.
