FARMINGTON, Maine – The Thomas College men's basketball fell short of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship with an 82-67 loss to Husson in the NAC Final on Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers came away with the early advantage, holding a 10-4 lead at the 15:46 mark of the first. The Eagles chipped away and eventually took the lead at 7:49 when a Justin Thompson layup made it 27-26. Husson built their lead over the next four minutes, eventually holding a 40-31 advantage with 3:12 to go in the first. Thomas answered with a 9-0 run to close the quarter and tie the score at 40-40 heading into halftime.
The Eagles took back control quickly, going on a 12-2 run over the first 2:39 of the second half to take a 52-42 lead. Husson continued to hold the Terriers off through the remainder of the half and clinched the NAC Championship with the 82-67 victory.
Zach Mackinnon (Kennebunk, Maine) led the Terriers with 18 points and five rebounds. Jordan Goodson (Orlando, Fla.) and Justin Butler (Orlando, Fla.) each scored 13 and had five rebounds apiece, while Goodson added four steals.
