WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's basketball team fell to Husson 69-65 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Friday afternoon at Larry Mahaney Gym.
Thomas jumped out to the early advantage, holding a 17-10 lead with seven minutes to go in the first half. Thomas kept the Eagles away, going into the break with a 31-23 advantage.
Husson came out hot in the second, starting the half on a 10-2 run that tied the game at 33-33 five minutes in. The teams stayed even over the next seven minutes, with Husson holding a 51-50 edge with under eight to go. The Eagles distanced themselves over the next three and a half minutes, going on a 16-7 run to go up 67-57. Thomas was able to get close down the stretch, but Husson held on for the 69-65 win.
Zach Mackinnon (Kennebunk, Maine) led the Terriers with 20 points on 4-7 shooting from three-point range to go along with eight rebounds. Jordan Goodson (Orlando, Fla.) tacked on 13 points off the bench along with nine rebounds and four assists.
Thomas will visit Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday, January 26 for a NAC game at 1:00 PM.
