LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – The Thomas College men's basketball team defeated Northern Vermont University-Lyndon 95-85 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday afternoon.
The teams stayed even through the early parts of the first, with Lyndon holding a 21-19 lead just under nine minutes in. Thomas took over from there, going on a 22-4 run over the next six minutes to build a 41-25 advantage and went into the break up 49-38.
The Hornets climbed their way back in it in the second half, pulling ahead 79-77 with 6:20 to go. The Terriers turned it around with a 12-2 run and held control the rest of the way for the 95-85 win.
Lovegeurson Fleurine (Fort Pierce, Fla.) topped six double figure scorers for the Terriers, posting a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Michael Gilman (Windham, Maine) was next with 17 points, including 5-of-7 shooting from three-point range.
Thomas will host UMaine-Presque Isle in NAC action on Wednesday, January 12 at 5:30 PM.
