WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's basketball team lost a 77-71 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game to SUNY Canton on Saturday afternoon at Larry Mahaney Gym.
After Thomas took an early 6-2 advantage, the teams traded the lead through the second half, with three lead changes and five ties during the period. Canton hit a last second jumper to send them into the break with a 29-27 edge.
The score stayed close through the majority of the second, with the teams tied 61-61 with four minutes remaining. After a Zach Mackinnon (Kennebunk, Maine) three-pointer gave Thomas a 64-61 lead, Canton went on a 16-7 run to close out the game and took a 77-71 victory.
The Terriers had four players in double-digits, with Lovegeurson Fleurine (Fort Pierce, Fla.) leading the way with a career-high 19 points and six rebounds. Jordan Goodson (Orlando, Fla.) scored 16 and had five rebounds, while Mackinnon and Demetris Webster (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) each had 12 points.
Thomas will host Northern Vermont University-Lyndon on Friday, December 7 in a NAC game at 5:30 PM.
