MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Thomas College men's basketball team had five double-digit scorers to lead them to an 81-57 victory over Becker in the Herb Kenny Tip-Off Tournament consolation game on Saturday afternoon at Wesleyan University.
The teams traded baskets in the early going, with Becker holding onto a thin 23-18 lead with under eight to go in the first. Thomas closed out the half on a 21-8 run to hold a 39-31 advantage going into the break.
Thomas stayed hot in the second, outscoring the Hawks 23-10 in the first nine minutes to take command at 62-41. The Terriers held Becker away through the remainder of play and went on to the 81-57 victory.
Patrik Lubin (Orlando, Florida) led the Terriers in scoring, knocking down 8-of-12 from the field for 16 points while hauling in eight rebounds. Justin Butler (Orlando, Fla.) came in with 14 points, while Demetris Webster (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) added 13. Jett Boyer (Hallowell, Maine) gave Thomas 12 off the bench, while Lovegeurson Fleurine (Fort Pierce, Fla.) was a rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine boards.
The Terriers host crosstown rival Colby College on Tuesday, November 20 at 5:00 PM.
