WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's basketball team fell to Norwich University 79-47 on day two of the Charlie Ryan Classic on Saturday afternoon at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.
After trading baskets over the first three minutes of the game, Norwich took the lead with a 10-0 run that put them ahead 17-6 just over five minutes into the half. The Cadets held their distance from the Terriers through the rest of the half, taking a 44-32 lead into the break.
The Terriers opened the second on a 9-5 run that brought the Norwich lead down to 49-41 six and a half minutes into the period. The Cadets bounced right back, outscoring the Terriers 30-6 the rest of the way to pull away with the 79-47 victory.
Justin Butler (Orlando, Fla.) led the Terriers in scoring, picking up nine points off the bench. Demetris Webster (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) added eight points, while Patrik Lubin (Orlando, Fla.) and Jordan Goodson (Orlando, Fla.) each pulled in a team-high six rebounds.
Kyle Booth scored a game-high 23 points and added six assists for the Cadets. Christopher Bryant recorded a double-double, picking up 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Thomas will visit Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Tuesday, November 13 for a 7:30 PM game.
