WATERVILLE, ME – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its weekly awards and senior guard Tyheem Simon (Far Rockaway, N.Y. / Lawrence) has been named NAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Simon averaged 23.7 points on 67.6% shooting from the field (25-of-37) and 81.3% shooting from the charity stripe (13-of-16), to go along with an average of 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and two assists per game in a 3-0 week for Thomas. In an 89-74 win over Maine Maritime, the senior recorded 21 points, four assists, three rebounds, three steals, and one block, while going a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Then in an 81-78 victory over Green Mountain, Simon posted 21 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal, as he shot 80% from the floor (8-of-10) and scored six of his team's last eight points in the second half. To finish the week, the guard netted a season high 29 points to go along with eight rebounds, three steals, and one assist in a 70-69 win over Castleton. In the one-point victory, Simon scored 21 of his points in the second half, including the team's final seven points.
The Terriers will travel to Plymouth State for their first road game of the season on Thursday, December 8 in a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup.
