Waterville, Maine – The Thomas College men's basketball team picked up their sixth win of the season Friday evening with a 99-77 victory over conference foe Lyndon College. The Terriers were led by sophomore Franklin Salvador, who came through with a 21 point performance in front of the home crowd.
The Terriers (6-4, 3-2 NAC) struggled out the gates, as they had a hard time finding an answer for Lyndon's (0-10, 0-4 NAC) Jason Gray and Asa Smith who combined for 23 of the Hornets 39 first half points. Salvador got the Terriers rolling on a 17-to-2 run to close out the half when he drained huge three at the 4:04 mark.
At the break the Terriers held a 51-39 lead over the Hornets.
In the second half, the Terriers pushed their lead to 56-39 before Grey stopped the bleeding for the Hornets with a jumper at the 17:53 mark; but their was now stopping the Terriers offense as five players hit double figures.
Sophomore Marquis Pollard grabbed 13 rebounds helping Terriers outrebound the Hornets 50-42.
Next up for Thomas is the 1:00 p.m. match up with the Badgers of Johnson State on Saturday January 7th. The Hornets will travel to the University Maine at Farmington for a 1 p.m. match up with the Beavers.
