AUBURN, Maine – The Thomas College club golf team competed at the two-day Maine State Golf Association Collegiate Championships held at the Martindale Country Club. A tough second day dropped the Terriers from the eighth spot down to tenth.
Husson University claimed the team victory shooting 289 on day one and 302 on day two for a team score of 591. Bates College finished second with a two-round total of 630, followed closely by Colby College (631) in third, Bowdoin College (635) in fourth and the University of Southern Maine (638) in fifth. The Terriers finished tenth overall on the weekend (662).
Zachary Gagne (Augusta, Maine) rallied back to a 22nd place finish after a tough first day, shooting a 161 overall (85/76). He was followed by Matt Jolicoeur (Oakland, Maine who finished 26th at 163 (82/81) and Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, Maine) in 30th at 164 (79/85). Caleb Roy (Lyman, Maine) and Evan Parsons (Woolwich, Maine) rounded out the team with a 174 (83/91) and 185 (90/95) respectively.
The Terriers will host the Thomas Invitational on Sunday, September 24 at the Waterville Country Club, starting at 11:00 a.m.
