LEEDS, ME – The Thomas College club golf team finished tenth in the two-day Maine Intercollegiate Golf Championship at the Springbrook Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
On the first day, Husson University looked to be in control holding a four shot advantage over Saint Joseph's (Maine) and eight shots ahead of Southern Maine. On Sunday, the Monks rallied past the Eagles to win the overall event, with the Huskies of Southern Maine finishing third. The Terriers finished both days in the tenth spot.
Senior Cameron Jackman (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) was the highest finisher for the Terriers shooting an 85 and 81 for a 36th place finish. Freshman Isaac Salisbury (Freeport, Maine / Freeport) finished behind him in 46th with a 102 and 101 while Jacob Perkins (Vershire, Vermont / Rivendell) finished 47th with a 105 and 101.
The Terriers will host their next event, the Thomas Invitational, on Sunday, September 25, in a 11:00 a.m. start at the Waterville Country Club.
