FH: Terriers Fall to Manhattanville 1-0 in NECC Championship

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Thomas College field hockey team fell in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Final to Manhattanville 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Valiants scored their only goal in the final minutes of the first when Ameerah Thomas drove in a shot off a penalty corner.

The Terriers had numerous chances to tie the score, out shooting Manhattanville 8-1 in the second half and holding a 9-3 advantage in penalty corners. The Valiants did not let one though, however, and hung on for the 1-0 win.

Zoe Fillebrown made eight saves in the shutout win for Manhattanville. Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) made three saves in the loss for Thomas.
