FARMINGTON, Maine – Kelci Faulkingham (Belfast, Maine) scored with five minutes remaining regulation to push the Thomas College field hockey team to a 2-1 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) victory at UMaine-Farmington on Tuesday afternoon.
The Terriers struck first in the ninth minute when Allie Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scored her fourth goal of the season to make it 1-0. The Beavers answered five minutes later when Kasey Talarico scored to knot it 1-1.
The teams were scoreless through the second and third periods before Faulkingham's goal in the 56th minute. The Terriers were awarded a penalty corner where Gregoire inserted a pass to Faulkingham, who buried the game-winner.
Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) earned the win in goal, making one save. Katelyn Rouleau took the loss for the Beavers.
Thomas will host Dean in a NECC game on Saturday, October 26 at 1:00 PM.
