FH: Terriers Push Past NEC, 3-1

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College field hockey team picked up a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) win on Saturday at Bernatchez Field, defeating New England College 3-1.

Thomas got on the board in the first, with Kelci Faulkingham (Belfast, Maine) fed a pass to Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) following a corner insert. Gregoire wound up and fired a shot into the net for a 1-0 lead.

Faulkingham scored a goal of her own in the 40th minute, firing in a pass of a corner insert by Allie Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine)

After the Pilgrims cut the lead to one with a goal in the 48th minute, Lindsey Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) put a rebound off a Faulkingham shot home to give Thomas the 3-1 victory.

Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) picked up the win in goal, making three saves. Ellie Philben took the loss, stopping 10 shots for NEC.

Thomas will visit Colby-Sawyer for a non-conference game on Wednesday, October 16 at 4:00 PM.
