MANSFIELD, Mass. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has announced its weekly awards for field hockey and Thomas College junior back Allie Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) has been named Defensive Player of the Week.
Gregoire led the Thomas defense that allowed one goal per game in a 2-1 week. She aided the Terriers to a shutout win over UMaine-Farmington on Wednesday, where the Beavers managed only two shots on goal and six penalty corners. Her defense followed that up by allowing just one goal on six shots on goal and seven penalty corners to Becker in a win on Saturday. Gregoire and the Terriers held a potent Manhattanville offense to just two goals and seven shots on goal in a loss on Sunday. Gregoire also tallied four assists and a goal on the week, collecting at least one point each game.
The Terriers will host Husson in an NECC game on Wednesday, October 9 at 7:00 PM on Bernatchez Field.
