MANSFIELD, Mass. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has announced its weekly awards for field hockey and two Terriers have been honored. Sophomore Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) was named Offensive Player of the Week and senior Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Gregoire scored four goals in three games last week, including her first career hat trick in a 3-0 win over Simmons on Sunday. She also scored the lone goal in the Terriers 2-1 loss to Skidmore on Saturday. She was a constant offensive weapon, averaging 5.33 shots and 2.67 shots on goal per game.
Kruse had a 2.59 goals against average in two appearances for the Terriers, making 11 saves on 15 shots on goal. She mad four stops in loss to No. 15 Bates on Thursday, then had a seven-save shutout in a 3-0 win against Simmons on Sunday.
Thomas will return to action on Friday, September 27, traveling to St. Joe's for a 6:00 PM game.
