FH: Britney Gregoire's Hat Trick Lifts Thomas to 3-0 Win Over Simmons

BOSTON, Mass. – Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scored her first career hat trick to lead the Thomas College field hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Simmons on Sunday.

Gregoire scored just 61 seconds into the game, carrying the ball in and firing a shot past the Simmons keeper for the 1-0 lead. It took her just 42 seconds to score her second, finding the ball in front of the cage and sending it in the right side for the 2-0 advantage.

Gregoire completed the hat trick in the third quarter, deflecting in a Kelci Faulkingham (Belfast, Maine) shot from the top after a penalty corner to give Thomas the 3-0 win.

Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) earned the victory with seven saves in the first 47:35 of play for the Terriers, before yielding to Alexis Bowman (Freedom, Maine), who was untested in the final 12:25 of action. Lucy McNamara (Brewster, Mass.) stopped five shots for Simmons in the loss.

Thomas will visit St. Joe's for a non-conference game on Friday, September 27 at 6:00 PM.
