FH: Skidmore Slips Past Thomas, 2-1

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Thomas College field hockey team fell to Skidmore College 2-1 on Saturday morning in a non-conference game.

The Thoroughbreds got on the board early, with Jordan Mjaatvedt scoring just over a minute in to give Skidmore the early 1-0 lead. The Terriers would answer later in the period when Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scored off a feed from Allie Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) to tie the score at 1-1.

Skidmore got the go-ahead goal in the third period, with Mjaatvedt scoring in the 35th minute to give the Thoroughbreds the 2-1 victory.

Maddy Carre earned the victory for Skidmore, coming in in the second quarter and making five saves. MacKenzie Oberholzer (Hancock, Md.) took the loss, making eight saves on ten shots for Thomas.

Thomas will visit Simmons on Sunday, September 22 for a 2:00 PM game.
