FH: Britney Gregoire Scores Twice in 3-2 Senior Day Win Over UMF

WATERVILLE, Maine – Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scored twice to lead the Thomas College field hockey team to a 3-2 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over UMaine-Farmington on Saturday on Bernatchez Field.

Britney Gregoire put the Terriers on the board in the 7th minute, scoring off a feed from Lindsey Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) to make it 1-0. Allie Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) made it 2-0 in the 19th minute, tipping in a straight shot following a penalty corner by Kelci Faulkingham (Belfast, Maine). Farmington evened it up heading into the half with goals in the 20th and 24th minute to bring it to 2-2.

The Terriers got the game-winning goal in the 56th minute, when Britney Gregoire scored her second of the game to give Thomas the 3-2 win.

MacKenzie Oberholzer (Hancock, Md.) got the win for Thomas, allowing no goals while working the second half after relieving Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine).

SENIOR CELEBRATION

Prior to the game, seniors Lindsay Morong (Knox, Maine), Katie Taylor (Lebanon, Maine) and Tiffany Weeks (Kennebunk, Maine) were recognized for playing in their final home contest.

Thomas will visit Husson for their regular season finale on Saturday, October 20 at 6:00 PM in a NAC contest.
