FH: Thomas Sweeps NAC Weekly Awards

WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has released its weekly awards for field hockey and Thomas College has swept all three awards for the fourth time this season. Kelci Faulkingham (Belfast, Maine) was named Player of the Week, Christina Denis (Waterville, Maine) was named Rookie of the Week and MacKenzie Oberholzer (Hancock, Md.) was named Defensive Player of the Week. Faulkingham becomes the fifth different Terrier to earn Player of the Week honors this season, as Thomas has taken the award all five times this season.

Faulkingham scored twice and assisted on another goal in the Terriers 2-1 week. She scored the Terriers third goal in a 4-0 victory over Regis on Tuesday, then scored the game-winner in a 3-0 conference win over UMaine-Farmington on Saturday. She went on to assist on the Terriers only goal in a 2-1 loss to Colby-Sawyer on Sunday.

Denis needed only one shot in the game to score her first collegiate goal in the closing seconds of a 3-0 conference victory over UMaine-Farmington on Saturday.

Oberholzer had two shutout victories in the Terriers two wins this week. The sophomore shut out Regis in a 4-0 win on Tuesday, then quarterbacked the Thomas defense to a 3-0 conference win over UMaine-Farmington on Saturday.

The Terriers will return to action on Wednesday, October 3 as they host Saint Joseph's (Maine) at 7:00 PM on Bernatchez Field.
