WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College field hockey team scored three times in the final eight minutes of the first half to secure a 3-0 victory over Simmons University on Sunday afternoon at Bernatchez Field.
Kelci Faulkingham (Belfast, Maine) notched the first Thomas goal at the 27:33 mark to go up 1-0. Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) made it 2-0 33 seconds later with her seventh goal of the season and fourth in as many games. Allie Gregoire finished the scoring in the 32nd minute, redirecting a drive from Faulkingham to bring the score to 3-0 at the half. The Terriers controlled play in the second half to secure the 3-0 victory.
Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) and Alexis Bowman (Freedom, Maine) combined for the shutout, with Kruse earning the win after working a scoreless first half. Lucy McNamar took the loss for Simmons, allowing three goals on six shots.
Thomas will travel to Regis on Tuesday, September 25 for a 7:00 PM game.
