WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College field hockey team fell to Mount Holyoke 3-2 in overtime on Saturday at Bernatchez Field.
Thomas took the early lead in the 11th minute when Lindsey Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) notched her fifth of the season for the 1-0 lead, which the Terriers held into halftime.
The Lyons evened things up in the 54th minute on a penalty stroke from Mirjam Keochakian. Thomas answered right back three minutes later with a goal by Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) to put the Terriers back up 2-1. Mount Holyoke forced overtime with under six to play with a tip in goal by Liz Delorme, then got the winter in extra time from Abby Baldwin for the 3-2 win.
Morgan Turner too the win for the Lyons, allowing two goals on six shots. Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) took the loss, allowing three goals on four shots.
Thomas hosts Bates on Wednesday, September 19 at 7:00 PM on Bernatchez Field.
