WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College field hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision to Kean University in a non-conference game on Saturday at Bernatchez Field.
Brenna Delbagno got the Cougars on the board in the 26th minute when she redirected a shot from the top of the circle from Kayla Molnar to give Kean a 1-0 lead that they'd hold into halftime.
Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) evened things up for Thomas four minutes into the second when she tipped a Katie Taylor (Lebanon, Maine) drive from outside the circle in to knot the score at 1-1. Kean took back the lead for good when Rachel Mills took a feed from Jenna Patrone and buried the game-winning goal in the 47th minute for the 2-1 Cougar win.
Megan Houser made a save on two shots in the win for Kean. MacKenzie Oberholzer stopped eight of 10 shots for the Terriers and was tagged with the loss.
Thomas will host Mount Holyoke at 11:00 AM on Sunday, September 15 on Bernatchez Field.
