FH: Late Goal Pushes Terriers Past Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. – Allie Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scored with less than two minutes remaining in the game to push the Thomas College field hockey team past Rivier University 2-1 on Thursday night.

Rivier struck first six minutes into the contest on an unassisted goal by Nicole Mansfield. That lead held until the final minutes of the first, when Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) found her sister Lindsey Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) in front to net her first collegiate goal and knot the score at 1-1 heading into the break.

The tie stood until the final two minutes, when Britney found Allie for the game-winner.

Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) was strong in net, stopping three of four shots faced. Emily Foster got the loss for Rivier, eight shots.

The Terriers travel to Gordon on Saturday, September 8 for a 1:00 PM start.
