DUDLEY, Mass. – The Thomas College field hockey team fell to Nichols College, 1-0, on the road Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
This afternoon's contest marked seventh all-time meeting between Nichols College and Thomas College. The win snaps a four-game losing skid against the Terriers, who still lead the series, 4-2.
Carlee Tolley scored the only goal of the contest at 28:02 of the first half came when she took a ball from junior Courteney White and tucked a shot from 15 yards out inside the right post.
Sophomore Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) was given the loss in goal for Thomas while Brooke Misbach turned aside all 11 shots on goal to earn her second shutout of the season.
The Terriers outshot the Bison 17-2 and held a 23-4 edge in penalty corners. Tiffany Weeks (Kennebunk, Maine) led Thomas with four shots on goal while Katie Taylor (Lebanon, Maine) and Miranda Gagne (Winslow, Maine) each had three.
The Terriers will host crosstown rival Colby College on Wednesday, September 13 at 8:00 p.m. on Bernatchez Field.
