Field Hockey Ranked Third in NAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas College field hockey team has been selected to finish third in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division preseason coaches' poll.

The defending conference champions, Husson University, have been selected first with 34 points, University of Maine at Farmington second with 32 points, and the Terriers third with 24 points.

In 2015, Thomas (8-9, 4-1 NAC) fell to UMF in the conference semifinals for the second straight season in a 2-1 contest after an early lead.  Forwards Gabby Martell (Gorham, ME / Gorham) and Abigail Dunn (Gardiner, ME / Gardiner) return to the Terriers after combining for 32 points last year.

The Terriers will also look to first year players Kelci Faulkingham (Belfast, ME / Belfast) and Kianna Pushard (Manchester, ME / Maranacook) to make an immediate impact.

Thomas will begin their season on the road Thursday, September 1, as they travel to the University of Southern Maine for a 4:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
