Terriers Axe Raiders, 4-1

NASHUA, NH - Thomas College snapped a five game losing streak, defeating Rivier 4-1 on Saturday afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) field hockey matchup. Brittany Premo had a goal and an assist in the winning effort.

The Terriers (6-9 overall, 3-5 NAC) wasted no time in getting on the board as Michelle Greene was able to tip home a pass from Premo at 6:06. Premo then pushed the advantage to 2-0 when she was able to break away from a couple of Rivier defenders and slap one past the goalkeeper at the 15 minute mark.

Miranda Tinsman finished the first half scoring as she was able to beat the clock and the goalie with 0:06 left. Lauren Hachey was credited with the assist.

Rivier was able to make an adjustment at half time and held the Terriers to just one goal. Samantha Clark capitalized on a pass from Nora Rauch at 55:28 for the fourth and final goal.

With time winding down in the season, Rivier freshman Nicole Hauer was able to collect a pass from Reutzel in what appeared to be a loose ball scramble in front of the net for her team leading sixth goal of the season.

Junior Makenzie Flagg made 11 saves on the afternoon and Thomas' Abbie Charrier totaled four saves. Rivier was outshot 25-9 in the game.

Thomas will return home tomorrow as they host conference foe Lasell at 11am on Senior Day.
