Field Hockey Falls to St. Joe's 3-1

Standish, Maine – The Thomas College field hockey team fell to the Monks of Saint Joseph's 3-1, in a North Atlantic Conference match up on Saturday afternoon.  With the loss the Terriers fall to 4-9 (2-4 NAC), while the Monks improve to 8-2 (6-0 NAC).

First year Brittany Premo put the Terriers out in front 1-0, when she scored just 2:06 into the first half. The Monks answered less than nine minutes later with the tying goal from TJ Cowin, who capitalized off of a rebound tying the game 1-1.

The game remained deadlocked at one apiece going into the break.

The Monks broke the tie when Cowin notched her second goal of the game in the 53rd minute of play. Peyton Dostie provided some insurance for the Monks with a score with 11 seconds remaining in the contest.

Thomas goal keeper Sofia Sourgiadakis posted six stops in the loss as St. Joseph's held a 15-to-9 advantage on shots.
The Terriers are off until Saturday October 15th when they host new conference foe Colby-Sawyer at 11:00 a.m.
