Thomas' comeback falls short on Senior Day with 3-2 loss

Waterville, ME -- On a day that Thomas would recognize their senior class, the Terriers fells short to Saint Joseph's (ME) 3-2. Prior to the game Thomas honored five seniors on the team: Alexis Evans (Embden, ME), Kellie Martel (Cambridge, ME), Ali Kriegel (Winslow, ME), Sarah Estes (Brewer, ME), and Megan Denby (Copiague, NY).

The Monks would be the first to strike with a goal from Melanie Allen and assisting her was Kayla Nowell at the 18 minute mark. Thomas would quickly answer back three minutes later from an unassisted goal by Claire Wyman (Dexter, ME). The first half ended at 1-1.

Saint Joseph's would start the second half with a quick goal 1:36 into play. Courtney Rague would score her goal off a penalty corner situation and Nowell was credited with another assist. 23 minutes later the Monks would get another goal off a penalty corner to go on top 3-1. Alyssa Dunn found the goal from a pass by Courtney Rague.

Thomas was able to score with just over 3 minutes to go in the game off Hillary Arenburg's (Berlin, NH) goal. The Terriers then put the pressure on the Monk's but were unable to get the equalizer.

The Terriers (5-10, 3-4 NAC) have finished up their 2010 regular season schedule. Thomas will wait to see who they will face in the NAC Quarterfinals of Saturday October 30, 2010.
