Field Hockey Season Wrap Up

Waterville, Maine - The Thomas field hockey team is climbing the ladder in 2010 as they finished the season with an overall record of 5-11 and 3-4 in conference play. Sophomore Ally Kenendy lead the team in scoring with eight goals followed by Junior Kristin Masessa with six goals and one assist and Senior Ali Kriegel with one goal and nine assists. Senior goal keeper Megan Denby was a standout in goal this year accumulating 169 saves and a .765 save percentage. She led the conference in saves and was fourth in save percentage. Kriegel was fourth in the conference with assists. Both Ali Kriegel and Kristin Masessa earned second team all conference honors.

"The team is very skilled and I am quite pleased with the season"- Coach Thebarge.

Although they did not have a winning record, four of the games they lost were by a single goal. The team ended up in fifth in the conference. There were five seniors on the team: Goal keeper Megan Denby, Midfielders Sarah Estes and Kellie Martel, Defender Alexis Evans and Forward Ali Kriegel. Kriegel has one year of eligibility remaining and we are hopeful that she will choose to return in the fall.
