HKY: Terriers Conclude Regular Season with 3-0 Win Over UNE

HALLOWELL, Maine – The Thomas College ice hockey team earned a 3-0 win over the University of New England on Sunday evening at the Camden National Bank Ice Vault.

Justin Wentworth (China, Maine) punched in a rebound to put the Terriers up 1-0 early. Rajhan Munnings (Providenciales, Turks and Caicos) buried a centering pass from Ryan Kappelmann (Auburn, Maine) to extend the lead and conclude the first period at 2-0.

The second period consisted of physical plays and ice-to-ice action. UNE tested Miloslav Fuksa (Czech Republic) in goal, but he denied all offensive efforts by the Nor'Easters. Wentworth scored his second goal of the game to extend the Terrier's lead to 3-0 after two periods of play.

Thomas played hard throughout to keep New England off the scoreboard and were able to maintain their lead throughout the third period, making it a 3-0 final.

Fuksa had a shutout in goal and earned the win for Thomas.

Thomas will await final seeding to determine their spot in the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association Colonial Conference playoffs.
