BIDDEFORD, ME—Thomas College fell to University of New England, 12-4 in a non-conference game hockey game Wednesday night. The Terriers fall to 2-6 on the season with the loss.
The Terriers faced a strenuous first period against the Nor'easters with a single goal scored by Michael Hersom with an assist from Kyle Mangin. The Nor'easters would take an 8-1 lead leaving the scoreboard ready for the Terriers to redeem themselves in the remaining second and third periods.
Nor'easters struck first in the second period raising the scoreboard 9-1. Thomas countered on a tally by Derek Driscoll assisted by Dylan Fernandez to cut the deficit. Two more goals by UNE left the score at 11-2 in the hosts favor heading into the final period.
The Nor'easters found the net first raising the score 12-2 just seconds into the stanza. Thomas would answer back however with two goals. The first led by Eric Morin with an assist from Bryce Lamontagne and Hersom. The Terriers final marker was scored by Mangin assisted by Matthew VanWinkle.
Thomas will play their next game at home gainst Daniel Webster on Sunday, December 8 at Sukee Arena at 4:20 PM.
