ANDOVER, NH – Thomas College (3-4) was unable to seal a come from behind victory, falling to Colby-Sawyer College (1-2), 10-7 on Sunday afternoon. Junior Garon LaFountain registered three goals and an assist in the loss.
The Chargers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead less than two minutes into the contest. The visitors responded however on LaFountain's first of the game, assisted by Eric Morin and Dylan Fernandez. Colby-Sawyer would add three more before the Terriers would add another off the stick of LaFountain to cut the deficit to 5-2 going into the second period.
Both teams would score four goal apiece in the second stanza, with Thomas getting the first, then the Chargers scoring three unanswered before Thomas added two of their own from Kyle Mangin and Michael Hersom. The hosts extended their lead to 9-6 to end the second period.
Both teams' offenses were held to a standstill in the closing period, with either side exchanging a goal apiece.
Connor Blair suffered the loss between the pipes, making 16 saves in the effort. Dakota Gendreau made eight stops in net while coming in midway through the second.
Hersom, who tallied a goal and an assist in the contest continues his streak of at least a one of each in each contest thus far, leads the team with 17 points on the season.
Thomas will be back in action on Sunday, Dec. 1 as they travel to New England College. Puck drops at 4pm.
