BSB: Miller, Bagley and King Earn NAC Honors

WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced its end of season awards for baseball and three Terriers have been honored. Alexander Miller (Brandon, Fla.) was named to the All-Conference Team, Nick Bagley (Hancock, Maine) was named to the Sportsmanship Team and Greg King earned Coach of the Year honors.

Miller led the NAC in batting average, hitting .453 in conference games. The leadoff man scored 14 runs while driving in five with four doubles and a triple. He stole five bases on seven attempts and held a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage as an outfielder with 30 putouts and two assists.

Bagley is being recognized as a member of the NAC Sportsmanship Team, which is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the baseball culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity that go beyond the competition rules and etiquette.

King is the 2019 NAC Baseball Coach of the Year. This is the fourth NAC Coach of the Year award for King, and sixth across his career. He was twice voted as the Maine Athletic Conference Coach of the Year prior to joining the NAC. Under King's guidance this season, the Terriers collected a 10-6 record in conference games and a 14-24 record overall. Five players were recognized for impressive performances with Athlete of the Week honors, and one player made the All-Conference team. Thomas earned the No. 3 seed in the NAC Baseball Tournament and finished as the runner up. This reflects a dramatic improvement from only one year ago, when Thomas ended the year 8-30 overall and 5-17 in the North Atlantic Conference.
