WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College baseball team fell to Bowdoin College 10-2 in a non-conference game on Thursday afternoon at H. Allen Ryan Field.
The Polar Bears opened the scoring in the top of the third, plating one to take a 1-0 lead. They added three more in the fourth to extend the advantage to 4-0. John Villanueva (Gray, Maine) put Thomas on the board in the bottom of the fourth, bringing Nick Bagley (Hancock, Maine) in to score on a single. The teams traded runs in the sixth, with Thomas notching their score with a Villanueva sacrifice fly that brought Ryan Kappelmann (Auburn, Maine) in to score. Bowdoin scored twice in the eighth and three times in the ninth to take the 10-2 victory.
Bagley took the loss for Thomas, allowing a run on one hit in 3.0 innings of work.
Thomas will host Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in a conference doubleheader at Husson University on Saturday, April 27 at 3:00 PM.
