KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Thomas College baseball team fell to Farmingdale State 13-3 on Wednesday morning.
After Farmingdale scored two in the bottom first, Thomas threatened with the bases loaded and two outs with Bradly Smith up to bat. He knocked a single to left field that brought Nick Bagley (Hancock, Maine) in to score.
The Terriers added their second run in the sixth with the Rams up 6-1, when Roberto Duran (San Diego, Calif.) scored on a fielder's choice to make it 6-2. Thomas plated their final run in the seventh, when Nicholas Cousins (Wells, Maine) tripled to right-center then scored on a ground out. Farmingdale continued to pile on runs and came away with the 13-3 win.
Dean Jackman (Hallowell, Maine) took the loss, allowing five earned runs in 4.1 innings of work while striking out three.
Thomas will return to action on Friday, March 22 when they play a doubleheader with Cazenovia, starting at 10:00 AM at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Fla.
