WATERVILLE, Maine --- Thomas College senior baseball player Nik Beeson (Manchester, N.H. / Trinity) has been named to the All-New England Region Team, the online publication announced Monday. He was a third-team selection.

Beeson, who was a three-time first-team All-North Atlantic Conference honoree, was the team's top hitter in 2016 with a .401 average (55-of-137), 11 doubles, two triples, 29 RBIs, 22 runs scored and two stolen bases. He led the team in batting average, on-base percentage (.440), slugging percentage (.511), hits, doubles and RBIs. Among NAC players, he ranked second in hits and batting average, third in total bases (70), fourth in doubles and slugging percentage, and sixth in triples and on-base percentage.

Against North Atlantic Conference competition, Beeson hit an astounding .447 (34-of-76) in 24 games with nine doubles, a triple, 19 RBIs, two stolen bases, 15 runs scored and drew seven walks while also compiling a .506 on-base percentage and a .592 slugging percentage.

Beeson has also made eight appearances on the mound for the Terriers, starting four games. He posted a 4-1 record with a 2.17 earned-run average, two saves, two complete games and 25 strikeouts in 29 innings. Beeson was 3-0 with two complete games in three league appearances, posting a 2.37 ERA and striking out 17 in 19 innings.

This is the fifth year that has named all-region teams. Beeson is the second Thomas player in that span to be selected (Cody Vigue, OF, 2013, third team).
