Roussel, a ’93 graduate of Thomas, returned to his alma mater to serve as the Director of Athletics in 2012.

Roussel brings 18 years of experience to Thomas. He started his career at St. Joseph’s as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach in ’93 while also working in academic records, public safety, and in residential life at various times. Roussel served as the men’s soccer coach until’96 and then once more in ’05. In five seasons at the helm for St. Joseph’s Roussel led the Monks to a 23-58-2 record and was also named Maine Soccer Coaches Association Coach of the Year and Maine Athletic Conference Co-Coach of the Year in’94. Roussel also served as the Monks Head Women’s Soccer Coach from 1998-2002. In his five seasons with the women’s team Roussel led the Monks to a record of 54-34-5 and was named Maine Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in ’98 and ’99.

In the December of ’02 Roussel was named the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at St. Joseph’s; a position he held for four years. While serving as AD for the Monks Roussel was charged with the task of taking St. Joseph’s from a DIII independent institution to a full member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Roussel also helped expand the Monks athletic programs, adding both men’s and women’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s swimming teams. Roussel also added the CHAMPS/Life Skills program and the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) to the Monks’ athletic program.

From June until December of ’06 Roussel held the position of Institutional Research Officer, before being promoted to Associate Dean of the College in January of 2007.

Roussel earned his Bachelor of Science, Business Education from Thomas in ’93 and earned his Master in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University in ’99. While at Thomas Roussel was a member of the Terriers men’s soccer and served as team captain in the fall of ’92. Roussel picked up NAIA All-District Team, NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, All-New England, and Western Maine Athletic Conference honors in ’92.
